Why It Matters
1. Get weight limit in writing
Skip bins: 1.5–3 tonne limit. Exceed = $100/tonne overcharge. Use hook lift / front lift for heavy concrete.
**2. Order “clean fill” vs “general waste”
Clean concrete/bricks = $100–$150/bin. Mixed with timber/plaster = $400+. Separate to save 60%.
**3. Book lockable lids
Prevents fly-tippers adding rubbish → you pay extra weight.
**4. Ask for “on-site repositioning”
Need bin moved mid-job? Some charge $50–$100. Negotiate free reposition.
**5. Use “live load” (wait & load)
Truck waits 15–30 mins while you load → no permit needed, cheaper than full hire.
**6. Get COI (Certificate of Insurance)
Protects you if bin damages property or causes injury.
